The Annual Conference on Native American Nutrition

Co-hosted by the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community (SMSC) and the University of Minnesota's Healthy Foods, Healthy Lives Institute, The Annual Conference on Native American Nutrition is the only conference series in the world devoted to the food and nutrition of Indigenous Peoples.

The Conference brings together tribal officials, researchers, practitioners, funders, and others to discuss the current state of Indigenous and academic scientific knowledge about Native nutrition, dietary health and food science, and identify new areas of work. The 2019 conference brought together more than 500 people from more than 30 states, three countries and dozens of different tribes. We were honored to host so many individuals working toward a common goal of improving the health of Indian Country.
